Book Review of “Plain Truth”

“Plain Truth” by Jodi Picoult

I’ve read a majority of Jodi PIcoult’s novels, well, actually I’ve listened to them; and I can honestly say that I quite enjoy them.  I always recommend them to others as her controversial topics, quick pace and gripping characters make for a great read.  “Plain Truth” is the first book that I’ve actually read, instead of listened to because from page one I was hooked.  The story takes place in an Amish community, with Katie a young, Amish teenager as the main character.  We soon come to find out that she gives birth to a baby who later dies.  From there the question that doesn’t get answered until the very end of the book is, how did the baby die?  Did Katie murder him, did someone else, or was he just sick?  Katie is forced to stand trial among the Englishers, who’s laws and customs she is not used to.   This tale is heart wrenching and very interesting tale that is sure to captivate your heart.
